The first event was “Orwell is not Amused: Password Policies in the Real World”.
Travis Friesen is a great speaker, shared with us tips on powerful passwords and what usually happens with insecure passwords created by employees in organizations. This event was exiting and interesting.
Another event was “The Power of Connections: Leveraging Relationships with Recruiters”, the speaker Ron Cantiveros.
Ron is a recruiter and a great one! During the session one participant asked if in Winnipeg recruiters have any programs to help people who are not confident in participating this kind of events. He compared it to Calgary, where they actually have. And I also was curios about that topic, I also shared my opinion that if we are talking about IT industry - most of the people are introverts and a great professionals from my practice were introverts and it is a great loss for organizations not to hire them.
