I decided to register for First Impressions when I saw Neo Financial is on the list. I was happy when I received invitations from them, but when I opened Bridge website to select available slot - everything was already taken. I felt a little bit disappointed, but not too much, as I already met with Paul during Networking Thursday Tech events.
The most important lessons I learned during this event - is to check emails more often when you are expecting such important updates. Neo Financial invited more students than available time slots that they had and I missed this opportunity. That was a good lesson for the next time.
The second lesson I learned was to apply to more organizations, that will give me more chances to participate.
And the third, most important was my decision to joint to three sessions: “Prepare for First Impressions Interviews”. This three sessions were help by professional PDev instructions: Jonathan Bailey and Raeanne Hébert. During three days session we worked on preparation of our elevator pitch, we practiced it in groups and finally we imitated a real “First Impression” event and practiced this meeting with instructors who were representors of one of participants in this event. These three meetings were so valuable and so interesting!
